How much will it cost?
ABC Selfstore have a variety of different sized units at different prices. Tell us what you want to store and we’ll give you a good idea of the size you need and the price.
What size units do you have?
We have many different sized units, from lockers which will hold a suitcase for example, to units the size of a double garage. We’ll be happy to help advise on what size of unit you’ll need, or take a look at our space estimator.
What if I need more/less space?
Providing we have availability, you can transfer to a larger or smaller unit at any time without penalty. Your storage charges will be amended accordingly from the day you transfer.
How do I rent a unit?
Simply call us, book online or pop in and our staff will help you complete the simple Storage Agreement.

Please note that you will also need to provide ID at the time of move in. Please review our Customer ID page for details of suitable forms of ID.
You’ll need a padlock and we require an initial payment of 4 weeks storage charges and the same amount as a fully refundable deposit.
Remember, even if you move out the following day, as well as your deposit, you will be refunded the advance payment you have made for days you didn't’t store (27 in this case!)
Why do I need a padlock?
You need your own padlock (padlocks are available for sale in each store), to ensure that your unit is kept secure at all times that only you hold the keys.
Do I have to book a unit?
We strongly recommend you give us a call so that we can reserve a specific unit for you since availability can sometimes be limited. Or you can do it online - right now.
However, as long as we have a suitable unit available you can simply arrive at the store, complete the Storage Agreement & ID check, and move in.

How do I cancel a booking?

Will my goods be safe?
Yes. We have video CCTV surveillance, smoke and fire detection and extensive intruder alarm systems operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
You hold the only key to your unit and access to the store is controlled by swipe card and PIN code.
How long can I store for?
You can stay as long as you like, there’s no minimum store period and you can vacate without giving notice. When you leave, the charges will be adjusted accordingly and you will be refunded any advance payment you have made for days you haven’t used.
What can I store?
Almost anything - furniture, books, clothes, personal effects, appliances, files, office equipment, documents, excess stock etc. However, please note that we cannot accept inflammable, perishable or illegal goods.
What’s included in the price?
Everything - rates, electricity, heating, security etc.
All you need is a padlock and packing materials.
What about insurance?
Your goods must be insured whilst in store with us. Cover may already be provided via an existing policy you hold (for example your household Insurance policy), but if this is not the case you will need to obtain suitable cover before storing.
We have made arrangements with an insurer to offer a policy for customers who store with us which you may wish to consider. If you would like more information on this policy please ask in store for further information. *
How do I pay?
Charges are normally paid by Direct Debit.
Whilst we can accept credit cards, cheques and cash please note that we are unable to accept cash for the initial storage charges and deposit.
Do you charge VAT?
Only our Wandsworth store charges VAT (Value Added Tax).
Storage prices at our Wandsworth store are competitive in the local market and our Price Promise still opertates (we will compare our vat-inclusive price against any competitor price). Businesses storing at Wandsworth who are able to reclaim VAT can also enjoy significant savings on storage by choosing ABC Selfstore.
Can you help with packing materials?
Yes. As well as padlocks we can supply racking, boxes, tape, bubble wrap, dust sheets, marker pens and many other packing supplies you may need, all from the ABC Shop in Reception.

Can you help arrange removals?
Yes. We do not operate our own removals service but are happy to help make arrangements for you with one of our recommended independent and professional removal contractors.
When can I get access to my goods?
Whenever you like, for as long as you like, as often as you like and at no cost, within our extensive opening hours.
Our Wandsworth and Southwark stores can also provide 24 hour access. This service is subject to an additional charge.
Do I need to give you any advance notice when I want to move all my goods out?
No. All we ask is that when you decide to vacate your unit you confirm the move-out date with us at Reception. We can then terminate your agreement and process any refunds and the return of your deposit.
